Pennant Hills
To approach with a long vehicle or trailer, head to Pennant Hills and follow the signs to Berowra Waters, along New Line Road to Dural, Galston, Arcadia and Berrilee. Watch out for the ‘BERRILEE’ sign, as approximately 1km past this you will see a sign on the right hand side for ‘NEALES STORAGE’. Take the next right into Jack Russell Road and you are 500m from Sydney’s premier large item storage facility.
Berowra Ferry
It is 2kms down Bay Rd to the Berowra Waters Boatramp and Ferry. The Ferry is operated 24 hours a day and only closes for servicing the 2nd Tuesday of each Month from Noon until 2pm.
WARNING:
Crossing Berowra Waters
Vehicles larger than 7 metres are not able to approach the Ferry at Berowra Waters and you must also be aware of the tides if you are towing anything. The access onto the Ferry is much steeper at low tide. However, it is a very pleasant trip in a normal vehicle and an extremely short distance to access the M1/F3.
GALSTON GORGE
Galston Gorge has a limit of 7.5 metres and very heavy penalties apply to anyone who attempts to cross and gets caught on the hairpin bends. If you are in a vehicle shorter than 7.5m the Gorge, like Berowra Waters, is a picturesque way to get to Hornsby, the Pacific Highway, Sydney or Parramatta and the West. If you are in any doubt and coming from Sydney, make sure your GPS takes you through Dural - the fines aren't worth it!
